The longer story
About David Nguyen
I’m a software engineer turned creator and entrepreneur. In 2026, I quit my Big Tech job because I hated who I had become.
I never wanted to work for someone else, but it was easier, and I needed to put food on the table. So I fell into the corporate world. By conventional measures, I “succeeded.” I received multiple promotions in just a few years and earned a $400K salary. Yet I still hated my life. More than that, I started to hate myself for being too much of a coward to change it.
I knew that life wasn’t for me, but I stuck with it because it was safe and comfortable. Then one day, I realized I had to choose between money and my self respect.
I chose self respect. For the first time in a long time, I chose to be honest with myself, no matter the consequences. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do.

So, What’s Next?
That’s what I’m here to find out. I’m just getting started. I don’t know what the road ahead holds, but I’m committed to following it.
Years ago, when I dropped out of college, I felt something very similar. For some odd reason, I knew I was going to be okay. I was confident that I would figure out my life and that I wouldn’t starve.
It’s safe to say I nailed that part. Everyday expenses and putting food on the table are no longer concerns of mine.
What I want now is self actualization. I want to become the best version of myself and live life to its fullest potential. I want to live a life that would make the younger version of me proud.
This comic sums it up pretty well.
